(X) AMRAZ-E-KABID-O-TEHAL (Diseases of the liver and spleen)

1. Zo'F-E-KABID(Sluggish liver)

There is weakness and general debility. The colour of the face is generally pale due to anaemia. There is loss of appetite. The patient feels pain below the ribs on right side (region of the liver). Sometimes the motion is loose.


Prescription No. 1

Sonf 6 g. each.
Gul-e-Surkh
Podina

Method of preparation : Boil in 180 ml of water and strain.

Administration           : Twice daily.

Prescription No. 2

Ajwain 12 g.

Method of preparation :     Soak in 120 ml. of water. Keep in shade in the day, expose to dew fall at night and strain in the morning.

Administration : Take as such in the morning.

Prescription No 3

Sonth  20 g.
Balchhar 20 g.
Darchini 20 g.
Sugar  60 g.

Method of preparation : Make a fine powder of the first three drugs and mix with sugar.

Administration : 6 g. twice daily.

Prescriptio No. 4

Naugarmotha 20 g.
Taj 20 g.
Ilaichi kalan 20 g.
Sugar 60 g.

Method of preparation :    Make a fine powder of first three drug and mix with sugar.

Administration            :    6 g. twice daily.

Prescription No. 5

Triphala (Powdered) 25 g.
Vinegar 60 ml.

Method of preparation :   Soak powdered triphala in vinegar for 24 hours and dry.

Administrations           :    3 g. with water in the morning.

Prescription No. 6

Anar juice or Lemon juice 1.25 litres.
Heera Kasees 60 g.

Method of preparation : Dissolve heera kasees in juice and keep it in a glass bottle.

Administration           : 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water twice daily.

Note : It is specially useful in anaemia.

Prepared Medicines :

Any of the following may be taken:

1. Majoon Dabidul Ward  7 g. at bed time.
2. Dawa-ul-Kurkum  7 g. at bed time.
3. Qurs Kushta Khubsul Hadeed
     with
    Dawaul Misk Sada
1 tablet.

6 g. in the morning.
4. Sharbat Faulad
    with
    Araq Brinjasif
25 ml.

50 ml.
5. Jawarish Jalinoos 6 g. twice daily after meals.
6. Noshdaru 6 g. twice daily after meals.

Instructions : Light diet is advised. Fatty food should be avoided. Morning walk is advised.

2.  FAQR-UD-DAM (Anaemia)
Paleness of the whole body, eyes and nail-bed. Swelling of the face and feet, specially i the morning. General weakness giddiness, loss of appetite and sometimes loose motions are present.

Prescription and Instructions :

Same as above in sluggish liver. Use of fresh fruits , rich diet such as soup of chicken, eggs, liver extracts, beet-root, carrot, spinach and fenugreek etc, is advised.

3. YARQAN (Jaundice)

The colour of the urine and eyes is yellow, while that of thelskin is pale. The colour of the stool is white or greyish. There is nausea, vomiting, fever and general weakness.

Method of preparation :  Make a fine powder.

Administration           :  1 g. with water twice daily.

Prescription No. 2

Menhdi leaves  12 g.

Method of preparation  : Crush, boil in 180 ml. of water and strain.

Administration            : Take as such in the morning.

Prescription No. 3

Fresh Gilo Neem 35 g.
Honey  12 g.

Method of preparation :  Crush the gilo, boil in 120 ml.of water, reduce it to half strain and add honey when cool.

Administration          :  Twice daily.

Prescription No. 4

Mooli juice 25 ml.
Naushadar 250 mg.

Method of preparation  :  Mix the above two drugs.
Administration            :   Take as such twice daily.

Prescription No.5

Kasni seeds 12 g.

Method of preparation  :  Soak in 120 ml. of water overnight and strain in the morning.

Administration           :    take as such in the morning.

Prescription No. 6

Babool flower 6 g.
Nilofar flower 6 g.
Revand Chini  4 g.

Method of preparation  :   Boil in 250 ml. of water and strain.

Administration            :    Twice daily.

Prescription No. 7

Kasni seeds Equal parts.
Mulethi
Namak siyah

Method of preparation :  Make a fine powder.

Administration           :  3 g. with water twice daily.

Prescription No 8

Babool gum 6 g.
Zeera sufaid 6 g.

Method of preparation :   Soak in 120 ml. of water over night and strain in the morning.

Administration           :  Take as such.

Prescription No. 9

Afsantin  6 g.
naushadar 500 mg.

Method of preparation : Grind with 120 ml. of water and keep on fire. When the water gets separated, remove it from fire and strain.

Administration         : Take as such in the morning.

Prescription No. 10

Fresh Mako leaves Q.S.
Fresh Kasni leaves Q.S.

Method of preparation   :   Extract 60 ml. of juice, keep it
and administration       :   on fire, when the water gets separated, remove it, strain and take in the morning.

Prescription No. 11

Chirchita 6 g.

Method of preparation  :  Soak in 120 ml. of water over ight and strain i the morning.

Administration             :   Take as such.

Prepared Medicines

Any of the following may be taken:

1. Sharbat Kasni 25 ml. with water twice daily.
2. Sharbat Deenar 25 ml. with water twice daily.
3. Sharbat Buzoori Motadil 125 ml. with water twice daily.
4. Majoon Dabid-ul-Ward   7 g. at bed time.
5. Habb-e-Kabid Naushadri 2 pills twice daily.
6. Sikanjabeen 25 ml. twice daily.

Instructions : Avoid fatty diets. Intake of salt should be reduced.

Note : A physician may be consulted for regular treatment.


4 . IZM-E-TEHAL( Enlargement of the spleen)

Enlarged spleen can be felt below the ribs on the left side, sometimes up to the umbilical region. Sometimes, the patient feels pain in that region and the abdomen seems enlarged, accompanied by anaemia. The spleen is often enlarged due to repeated attacks of malarial fever.

Prescription No. 1

Shora Qalmi 2 g.
Kela (Banana)  1 number.

Method of preparation   :  Make a fine powder of shora.
and admnistration        :  Split the ripe kela with a knife and insert the powder  Take as such twice daily.

Prescription No. 2

Unripe Papita Q.S.

Method of preparation  :  Cut Papita into small pieces, put in Vinegar and preserve.
Administration            :  6 g. of these pieces to be taken in the morning after sprinking salt over them.

Note : Fresh unripe Papita with salt may also be taken.

Prescription No. 3

Rai 25 g.

Method of preparation  :   Make a fine powder.

Administration             :    1 g. twice daily.

Mooli seeds
Elva
Vinegar 12 ml.
rose oil 12 ml.

Method of preparation :   Make a fine powder of the first three drugs. Mix with Vinegar and Rose oil to make a paste.

Administration     : Spread the paste on piece of cloth and apply on the splenic region .

Ajwain Q.S.
Pulp of Gheekuwar

Method of preparation :   Immerse Ajwain in Pulp of Gheekuwar and dry.
Administration           :   2 g. twice daily.

Prescription No. 6

Naushadar 2 g.
Mooli 25 g.

Method of preparation  :   Cut mooli into small pieces, sprinkle naushadar over it and expose to dew fall at night.

Administration  :   Take in the morning.

Prescription No 7

Naushadar Q.S.
Gheekuwar

Method of preparation :    Make a small cut on the gheekuwar leaf, fill it with nausha dar and suspend it with string. Place a vessel below to collect the dripping.

Administration   :  10 drops in 60 ml. of water two to three times a day.

Prescription No. 8

Anjeer Q.S.
Vinegar

Method of preparation     Grind Anjeer with Vinegar to make a paste.

Administration :    Spread the paste on a piece of a cloth and apply on the splenic region.

Prepared Medicies.

Any of the following may be taken:

1. Majoon Dabidul Ward  7 g. at bed time.
2. Dawa-ul-Kurkum 7 g. at bed time.
3. Dawa-ul-Misk
    Motadil sada.
6 g. in the morning.
4. Habb-e-Kibreet 2 pills with water twice a day.
5. Zimad Ushaq Apply on the splenic region.
6. Zimad Jalinoos Apply on the splenic region.
7. Zimad Sumbul-ut-Teeb  Apply on the splenic region.


Instrutions : Avoid hot, spicy and fatty diet. Take light and easily digestible food.
